01 — The sneak-peek
A coin series launched in the leopard's name
For the SA Mint's Nocturnal Hunters coin series, BBA Liminal built an integrated launch experience around the Cape leopard — bespoke packaging, commissioned art, and an auction-night event whose proceeds went to the Cape Leopard Trust and its work with children.

02 — The liminal moment
The South African Mint's Nocturnal Hunters series celebrates one of Africa's great predators. For the launch of the Leopard set, the brief was an integrated communications experience: packaging, collateral, value-add and a launch event worthy of the animal.
The deeper opportunity was to make the launch serve the leopard itself. BBA Liminal built the experience around the Cape Mountain leopard and the Trust that protects it, turning a collectors' coin launch into an occasion with public purpose — bespoke craft, an inspired evening in the leopard's home range, and an auction whose proceeds would fund conservation and bring more children into the wild.

03 — The transformation
Packaging worthy of the animal. We commissioned renowned South African furniture designer Andrew Dominic to make a uniquely designed wooden box and a leather carry case for the number 001 of 300 limited-edition set. The coin and value-add boxes carry a yellowwood and kiaat inlay echoing the pattern of a leopard's pelt.
Craft as value-add. We commissioned artist Stephen Rautenbach to cast accurate bronze replicas of a leopard's tooth and claw as luxury value-add collateral — the wild rendered in bronze, an object to keep alongside the coin.
An evening in the leopard's home range. With A Better World Network, we staged the launch at Hemelhuijs in Cape Town, where chef Jacques Erasmus built a menu from the leopard's own range — rooibos, springbok, Karoo lamb, navel oranges, Cederberg honey. We premiered a promotional video for the Cape Leopard Trust, and ran an exclusive online auction for the 001 of 300 set, the winner also receiving a stay at Bushmanskloof Wilderness Reserve.

04 — The craft
The wild, rendered in bronze and yellowwood
A leopard-pelt inlay in yellowwood and kiaat, a leather carry case, bronze tooth and claw, a Cape-range menu and a global auction — an integrated launch built around one animal and the Trust that protects it.
